Our contemporary training studio is located in London in the exclusive Kensington region that was home to Princess Diana as well as Queen Victoria and Prince Consort Albert. As such, every step taken is graced with Victorian history, from Kensington Palace and Royal Albert Hall to the Albert Memorial, Hyde Park and the Victoria and Albert Museum. This privilege allows you the exclusive pleasure of experiencing etiquette in its birth place, with tutorial insights and hands-on practical experiences beyond measure.
This dynamic social etiquette programme is offered monthly in London over 5 days, as follows:
Day 1
Module 1: 10.00am - 12.00pm
International Social Etiquette (Part 1):
British and international social etiquette codes and general behaviour.
Module 2: 13.00pm - 15.00pm
International Social Etiquette (Part 2):
An exclusive V&A Museum guided etiquette tutorial on the 'Rise of Polite Society' in England and its international influences and outcomes.
Day 2
Module 3: 10.00am - 12.00pm
International Social Etiquette (Part 3):
A private Kensington Palace guided interactive etiquette tutorial and exhibit of 'The Last Debutantes'.
Module 4: 13.00pm - 15.00pm
The Art of Entertaining & Being Entertained:
From formal invitations to seating plans and menus, plus host and guest duties and privileges.
Day 3
Module 5: 10.00am - 12.15pm
The Art of the Table:
An amusing hands-on session where you will learn to maneuver a formal table setting, understand English and French table décor, English and French table manners and international dining skills.
Module 6: 12.30pm - 15.00pm
Formal Dining Tutorial:
A unique, hands-on 5-course luncheon tutorial in a private dining room at The Milestone Hotel, five stars. You will master the techniques of society dining from taking your seat to properly slicing the cheese, passing the Port and mastering the fruit course - with knife and fork...prepare to be amused.
Day 4
Module 7: 10.00am - 12.00pm
Posture, Poise and Deportment:
Discover the tips of elegant body language from making an entrance, through saying good-bye. You will discover the notions of elegant walking, standing, sitting and gracefully descending stairs as well as professional tips to add presence and style to your daily routine.
Module 8: 13.00pm - 15.00pm
Posture, Poise and Deportment Through Ballroom Dance:
This exhilarating session is lead in partnership with London's 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional team. You will learn the basics of society's preeminent etiquette dance- the waltz. Posture and poise will be reinforced through fun and artistic movement.
Day 5
Module 9: 10.00am - 12.00pm
Personal Image and Society Dress Codes:
You will learn how to distinguish style from fashion and add class to every wardrobe. Master the novelty of wearing French scarves to the understatement of English classics for an elegant appearance from morning tea to the ballroom and all of the society events in between.
Module 10: 13.00pm - 15.00pm
The Art and Etiquette of English Afternoon Tea:
Afternoon Tea is a British institution, one bound with codes for the uninitiated...which once mastered, is even more enjoyable. You will learn the differences between cream tea, light tea, high tea and royal tea, whilst gaining insight into the French, Chinese and Moroccan traditions of teatime too. This is a highly enjoyable hands-on tutorial including a 3-course tea meal.
